Same number, different chest measurement
A size 32 runs about 79cm at the chest in Speedo’s chart. In Arena’s chart, a size 32 runs about 85cm. TYR, Dolfin, and Sporti sit in between, at roughly 81 to 86cm for the same size number. That’s close to a 6cm spread on a single size across five brands, which is enough to change how a suit actually fits.
The size number isn’t the reliable part
Each brand builds its own chart from its own fit model and cut. There’s no shared industry standard behind the number, so a size that fits well in one brand’s suit is only a starting guess in another’s. The chest, waist, and hip measurements underneath the number are what carry over — the number itself doesn’t.
